NNPP Appeals to Governor Yusuf Urges Him to Reject APC Defection

The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) has called on Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, to resist any move to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party it claims has lost the confidence of the masses.

The appeal was made on Monday in Kano by the NNPP Chairman in the state, Suleiman Dungurawa, during a press briefing addressing growing speculation about possible political realignments.

Dungurawa dismissed reports suggesting that certain party figures were attempting to create a rift between Governor Yusuf and the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. He emphasized that Kwankwaso does not support the current political developments unfolding in the state.

The state chairman also reassured residents of Kano, urging them to remain calm and continue their lawful activities amid the uncertainty.

Warning party members against being misled, Dungurawa cautioned them not to append their names to documents allegedly being circulated by individuals pushing for defection to the APC.

Speaking on behalf of the party leadership, he appealed to loyalty and restraint, urging members to remain within the NNPP rather than align with a party the group claims voters have rejected. He stressed that both the state and national leadership of the NNPP, including Kwankwaso and other senior figures, do not endorse any move toward the APC.
