No Sponsored Campaign Can Derail Alia’s Re-Election Bid

A former senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue South, Daniel Onjeh, has declared that no politically motivated smear campaign can hinder the re-election prospects of Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Onjeh made this known in a statement released in Makurdi on Tuesday, where he expressed concern over what he described as calculated and persistent attacks on the Alia-led administration.

He maintained that these criticisms are orchestrated by individuals unsettled by the governor’s refusal to align with their selfish political interests.

“Neither propaganda, smear tactics, nor sponsored assaults will prevent Governor Alia from achieving re-election in 2027,” Onjeh asserted.

He emphasized that the governor has already won the confidence, trust, and support of the people through tangible achievements and purposeful governance.

Onjeh further explained that the sustained criticisms are deliberate attempts to distract the administration from its development-focused agenda and to mislead the public with false narratives and unnecessary controversy.

He argued that the Alia government has recorded clear, people-centered accomplishments that exceed those of previous administrations since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999.

“Governor Alia’s leadership has delivered visible, citizen-focused results that surpass the records of past governments since the restoration of democracy in 1999. The current administration demonstrates exceptional discipline, strong vision, and a genuine commitment to meeting the everyday needs of the populace, rather than pandering to elite political interests.

“Benue State is witnessing a steady and purposeful transformation,” he stated.

Onjeh also noted that the governor does not engage in unnecessary noise or political drama, stressing that his leadership style is driven by substance rather than showmanship.

According to him, the hallmark of the Alia administration is measurable impact, not propaganda.

He added that meaningful development is being achieved through strategic infrastructure projects and sound policy initiatives, even if these efforts are not aggressively publicized.
