In a candid interview with VJ Adams, Folarin revealed that overzealous fans sometimes cross boundaries, including kissing him without his consent.

Folarin stressed the importance of consent, urging fans to always seek permission before interacting physically with celebrities.
Daniel Etim-Effiong Opens Up About Life-Changing University Experience
Meanwhile, fellow Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong recounted a painful episode during his university days that altered the course of his life and faith.
In an interview with Taymesan, Etim-Effiong revealed that he was wrongly accused of cultism and expelled from the Federal University of Technology, Minna. The experience left him shocked, emotionally broken, and feeling betrayed.
After leaving school, he relocated to Jos, Plateau State, where newfound freedom brought anger and confusion. During this period, he picked up habits such as smoking and womanizing, which he attributed to frustration and disappointment.
Etim-Effiong explained that the incident strained his relationship with God. Despite being actively involved in Christian activities and a student fellowship, the group failed to support him or protest his expulsion.
“That same year I got expelled from the university for belonging to a cult. Which cult? I was a church boy. In Jos, I started smoking and womanizing because I felt free but also angry at God. I thought, ‘Why did this happen to me? I was an SU, and no one defended me. I told my fellowship they should protest,’” he said.
The experience left him feeling abandoned, and he gradually withdrew from church activities during one of the most difficult periods of his life.
