Enyimba striker Kingsley Maduforo has urged fans to rally behind the People’s Elephant ahead of the highly anticipated Oriental derby against Enugu Rangers in Aba.
The former Rangers player described the encounter as “lively and emotional” and appealed for strong support following Enyimba’s recent defeat to Katsina United in Ilorin.
“Come Sunday, we are up against Rangers International, and it will be a sweet game. When two brothers fight, it’s always interesting. We appeal to our fans to continue giving us their maximum support and not give up on us,” Maduforo told Puyaka.
He added that the squad has worked hard to correct the mistakes that cost them in their last outing and is ready to fight for a positive result.
“After the loss, we returned to the drawing board to amend our lapses and push for maximum points. As a former Rangers player, I’m excited about the encounter and I’m ready to give my best if selected,” he said.
Enyimba currently sit 14th on the NPFL table with 17 points from 14 matches, while Rangers are fifth with 22 points, arriving in Aba on the back of a strong run of form.
