Nigerian singer Omah Lay has revealed why he recently declined an offer from Davido to collaborate on a new track.
Speaking on a podcast, the 28-year-old singer said the invitation came following the success of their hit song “With You.” However, he explained that he chose to focus on his personal growth and career plans at that time.
“After we dropped the hit song ‘With You,’ Davido called me for a new collaboration, but I declined because I have my career to pursue too,” Omah Lay said.
He emphasized that he respects Davido but felt it was important to pause joint projects in order to concentrate on his own trajectory in the music industry.
In a related development, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide Baddo, shared that he is also entering a phase of life focused entirely on himself.
Speaking to Flow 98.7 FM, the YBNL boss said he has spent years balancing support for others with his own music journey but is now prioritizing his well-being and personal growth.
“Right now, I’m at the phase in my life where I’m really trying to give myself undivided attention,” Olamide said.
