Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo, popularly known as Omoborty, has raised concerns about the lack of support from some actors when it comes to promoting films after appearing in them.
In a message shared on her Instagram page, Okeowo expressed frustration at colleagues who feature in movies but fail to back producers during promotional efforts. She described such behaviour as unfair and disrespectful, pointing out that it undermines the time, effort, and resources invested in creating a film.
A Call For Unity In Nollywood
Okeowo also highlighted another troubling trend: actors who rarely support the work of their peers, even when it requires little effort or cost.
“I’ve promoted many films I didn’t act in because I believe in helping others grow,” she explained.
She emphasised that success in the industry should inspire collaboration, not insecurity or jealousy. According to her, viewing another person’s achievements as a threat only creates division and slows collective progress.
Gratitude And Encouragement
The actress went on to thank those who have supported her genuinely, including colleagues who offered help without being asked.
She urged everyone in Nollywood to let go of envy and negativity, reminding peers that there is enough space for everyone to thrive if they work together.
