One Killed As Terrorists Attack Security Operatives At Dangote Cement Factory

A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) was killed on Sunday night when suspected terrorists launched an assault on a police post in Obajana, Kogi State, where security personnel are deployed at the Dangote Cement Factory.

Security sources told SaharaReporters on Monday that the attackers struck late on Sunday in large numbers, in what is believed to be a retaliatory attack following a recent military operation that reportedly left over 200 terrorists dead in the area.

“One CJTF member was lost during the attack. There were no police casualties, and no arms were taken,” one source confirmed.

The source added that the terrorists tried to overrun the police position but were successfully repelled by security forces.

“They came in large numbers, all hooded, seeking revenge for the heavy losses they suffered earlier. Despite their numbers, they were pushed back and sustained further casualties as they evacuated their dead,” the source said.

Another insider corroborated that troops stationed at the Dangote Cement Factory held firm throughout the assault, forcing the attackers to retreat after suffering significant losses.

“Last night, terrorists attacked a police position at Obajana. Troops stationed at Dangote’s Cement Factory successfully defended the site,” the source reiterated.

As of the time of filing, the Kogi State Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
