Afrobeats superstar Davido has responded to the sudden resignation of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to Gossip News Now , Governor Adeleke officially left the PDP on November 4, 2025, though the news only surfaced publicly on Monday night.
The resignation letter, shared online by his aide Olawale Rasheed, cited ongoing disputes at the national level as the reason for his departure. In the letter addressed to his Ward 2 chairman in Ede North, Adeleke acknowledged the party’s role in his political rise—from senator to governor—but stated that unresolved internal conflicts made it impossible for him to continue under the PDP banner.
Reacting to the news, Davido posted on X: “Jeje… ”
Adeleke’s exit has thrown the Osun 2026 governorship primary into uncertainty. The state PDP announced a postponement of the primary amid internal disagreements, while the party’s National Working Committee insisted that the exercise should go ahead. Notably, Adeleke remains the only candidate who purchased the nomination form, adding to the confusion.
Speculation is now mounting that Adeleke may seek a second term under the Accord Party. Reports suggest that some of his aides are already moving into the party and assuming key positions in Osun State politics.
Earlier attempts by Adeleke to join the APC reportedly failed, with party leaders rejecting his application.
