Pastor Chris Okafor Kneels to Apologize to Doris Ogala

Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, Chris Okafor, has publicly apologized to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala following days of controversy surrounding their relationship and her recent arrests.

During a livestreamed service, Okafor admitted that mistakes had been made in the past and extended an apology to anyone who felt hurt. While insisting that the claims against him were false, he expressed remorse and a willingness to make amends.

“I tender an apology to everybody. Everything that was said is not true—everything. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said. But be it, I say I am sorry to everyone I have offended. To Doris Ogala, I also say sorry. I’m ready to make restitution to anyone I have wronged,” he said, kneeling before church members as a gesture of sincerity.

He added, “I apologize to any lady, man, or person I have offended. Forgive me. I am not perfect. I’ve never been perfect. I’m kneeling down before everyone and before the church.”

The apology follows a series of events that saw Ogala detained in Abuja, granted bail, rearrested, and transferred to Lagos by officers attached to Zone 2. During the ordeal, her lawyer was reportedly attacked, and his phones were confiscated. Activist intervention eventually secured her release in Lagos.

Reports indicate that Okafor met Ogala at Zone 2 Command in Onikan, where he personally appealed for peace and reportedly knelt during a closed-door meeting to seek reconciliation before her release on health grounds.

The dispute originated after Ogala accused the preacher of failing to honor an alleged promise of marriage. Through her legal team, she demanded ₦1 billion in damages for emotional distress, reputational harm, and financial loss, citing a relationship that began in 2017 and involved family introductions and monetary transfers totaling approximately ₦45 million.
