Popular content creator Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, has responded to TikTok’s temporary restriction on night-time livestreaming in Nigeria, assuring fans that the move will not affect his earnings.
Gossip News Now reports that TikTok notified eligible Nigerian users of the restriction through an in-app notice on Sunday at midnight. The update prevents users from hosting or watching livestreams during late hours while the platform reviews content and safety measures.
Addressing the restriction in a video shared on Monday, Peller said his income extends beyond TikTok gifts, as he earns significantly from brand endorsements worth millions of naira. He also noted that creators often give back to their fans through giveaways.
Peller emphasized that TikTok remains one of the strongest platforms for young creators to grow quickly online, outperforming other social media networks. However, he acknowledged that smaller creators who rely heavily on night-time LIVE sessions for exposure and earnings might be more impacted.
He stated, “People are expecting me to cry after TikTok banned night-time live sessions, thinking I’ll go hungry. I’m an ambassador for numerous brands, and none of my endorsements is less than N40 million.
“Many people can grow on TikTok. You can’t grow on Instagram the same way. Before you make it there, you have to post a lot… TikTok makes growth much easier.”
