Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has announced that he has gained admission into a university in Lagos to study Law, a development he says marks a new chapter in his life.
The influencer shared the news in a video posted on social media on Saturday, where he also responded to critics who had previously ridiculed his academic background.
In the video, Peller was seen walking into a building with a statue of justice at its entrance, symbolically highlighting his new academic journey and suggesting a shift in how he should now be regarded.
He disclosed that he secured admission into a private university in Lagos, although he declined to reveal the institution’s name.
Reacting to past criticism, Peller said many people had mocked him for not having a university education, but insisted that his new status should silence detractors.
“People have always criticised me for not being educated, as if I’m the first person who didn’t attend university. Now, everyone should leave social media because I’m officially in school.
“I’m studying law now — you can see it. You can’t joke with me anymore. I know the law,” he said.
Gossip News Now reports that the TikToker has faced persistent online backlash over the years, with some critics describing him as “lousy” and “uneducated.”
Earlier this month, Peller had revealed his intention to further his education, explaining that one of his goals was to improve his spoken English, which he admitted needed refinement.
He has also recently been in the spotlight following a controversy involving the visit of American streamer IShowSpeed to Nigeria.
During the visit, Peller was reportedly stopped by the streamer’s security team while attempting to approach him for a potential collaboration.
