Pere Egbi Advises Single Women Against Living Alone

Former Big Brother Naija housemate and media personality Pere Egbi has advised single women in Nigeria to reconsider living alone, pointing to serious safety and security concerns.

The reality TV star shared his message on social media, encouraging young women to ensure they live with someone they trust, such as a close friend or a family member, rather than staying by themselves.

According to Pere, living alone as a woman in Nigeria exposes one to avoidable risks, stressing that having company at home can offer both protection and emotional support.

He explained that solitude in such circumstances is neither ideal nor advisable, especially given prevailing security challenges across the country.

In his words, young women should make it a priority to always have someone around, describing living alone as an unsafe choice rather than a sign of independence.

Pere’s advice comes in the wake of widespread public concern following the death of fast-rising Nigerian singer Ifunanya Nwangene.

The 26-year-old artiste, who previously participated in The Voice Nigeria, reportedly lost her life after being bitten by a snake in her Abuja apartment.

At the time of the incident, Nwangene was said to be asleep in her residence and was preparing for her first solo concert before the tragedy occurred.

Reports further revealed that efforts to save her were complicated by challenges in accessing anti-venom at nearby medical facilities.

Her death has since triggered nationwide conversations about personal safety, emergency response systems, and the availability of critical healthcare resources in Nigeria, with many calling for urgent improvements.
