Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has slammed a waitress in the United States who criticized him for leaving a $60 tip after spending about $1,000 at a restaurant.
Sharing the incident on his Instagram Story, the Psquare singer revealed that he was shocked when the waitress, identified as Sandra Zubia, sent him a message accusing him of being stingy.
According to her message, she wrote:
“How you come eat, come in hella late and chill at a restaurant. Your bill was A THOUSAND dollars and leave SIXTY dollars tip? Ridiculous. No wonder people hate y’all.”
The comment didn’t sit well with Peter, who posted a screenshot of the message and fired back, calling out what he described as an attitude of entitlement among service workers abroad.
He wrote:
“Sometimes, eh, dis oyinbos na them no get sense. Una dey craze for this Yankee aswear. For my own money again?”
Peter expressed disbelief that someone could complain about a voluntary tip, especially after he had already spent a significant amount on his meal.
The singer’s post has since sparked reactions online, with fans defending him and arguing that a tip is a personal choice, not an obligation.
