Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has made an emotional public appeal for assistance after revealing that she was evicted from her residence by her landlady, despite being ready to renew her rent.
Gossip News Now reports that the distressed actress disclosed her ordeal during a live TikTok session, where she explained that she was forced out of her home even though she was financially prepared to continue her tenancy.
During the live broadcast, Halima also opened up about her ongoing health struggles, which she said have significantly disrupted both her career and everyday life.
The actress had previously revealed that she is battling a serious medical condition, admitting that she often relies on social media filters to conceal the physical toll of her illness.
She further explained that she has made several attempts to seek financial and medical support from individuals, organizations, and even the Kogi State Government, but all her efforts have so far proven unsuccessful.
Now 39, Halima disclosed that her prolonged illness has kept her away from the film industry for several years, severely affecting her livelihood.
She also revealed that she has been forced to sell some of her personal belongings in order to fund her medical treatment.
Speaking emotionally, she said:
“People are confused about what is really happening. I am still not well. I just try to stay strong and pretend I’m okay. This is me, but every time you see my pictures, they are filtered. That’s a TikTok filter, not my real face. This is how I truly look. Please help me. I am tired of begging. Kindly tag the Kogi State Government.”
Halima’s health challenges have remained a topic of public concern for some time.
In 2024, she was suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) following allegations of defaming colleagues and other prominent figures.
She later issued a public apology to Apostle Johnson Suleman, admitting that some of the claims she made against him were untrue.
