Controversial Nigerian street-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, is reportedly on the run after an alleged physical confrontation with actress Ashabi Simple, one of the mothers of his children.
According to information obtained by Gossip News Now, the incident is said to have occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026, when Ashabi paid a visit to Portable’s bar located in Ogun State.
Footage circulating on social media captured a heated exchange between the two, drawing widespread attention online.
In the video, Ashabi—who has frequently been referred to in public as one of Portable’s baby mamas—was visibly upset by the description, insisting that she should be recognised as a wife rather than just a baby mama.
Portable, however, stood his ground, stressing that only his legally wedded wife, Bewaji, holds the title of his spouse, while all other women he has children with are considered baby mamas.
The disagreement quickly escalated, with accusations that the singer pushed and physically assaulted Ashabi during the confrontation.
Following the incident, Ashabi and her siblings reportedly filed a complaint with the police, accusing Portable of assault and abusive behaviour.
Ashabi later took to social media to narrate her version of events, explaining that she visited the bar at Portable’s request, but things deteriorated after a misunderstanding turned into a serious dispute.
She further alleged that Portable confiscated their mobile phones and issued threats during the altercation.
Police sources disclosed that officers were dispatched to Portable’s residence to effect his arrest, but he allegedly fled the premises before their arrival.
The officers reportedly met his pregnant wife at the house instead.
In an Instagram video, Ashabi detailed the incident, saying:
“I was celebrating the New Year happily with my family when you called me, saying you were not in a good mood. I told you I was at my dad’s place for the New Year, and you asked me to bring food for you. I agreed.
“When I arrived at your bar, I called you and you asked me to meet you outside. We had a small argument there, and you slapped and beat me, collected our phones, and threatened my siblings and me with an axe.”
