Just five days after controversial artist Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, was sent to prison over a nine-count criminal charge, his first wife, Omobewaji, has reportedly welcomed a newborn.
The musician was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before a Federal High Court in Ogun State.
However, the judge handling the case refused to grant bail, noting that the police officer Portable allegedly assaulted—who was expected to testify—was not present in court.
As a result, the court ordered that Portable remain in custody and adjourned proceedings to January 19, 2026, when his bail request will be reviewed.
During this period, Omobewaji gave birth while the singer continues to be held in detention.
According to reports by The Nation, the news of the baby’s arrival has already reached Portable in prison.
It was learned that he reacted with joy upon hearing the announcement and expressed a strong desire to regain his freedom so he can meet his child.
Portable’s arrest stemmed from an earlier confrontation involving one of his wives, Ashabi Simple, during which he was accused of assaulting a police officer.
