The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Ngozi Odu, has officially become a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Gossip News Now reports that Odu completed her registration at her ward in Akabuka Town, Ward 8, Unit 11, within Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area.
Immediately after completing the registration, the deputy governor led supporters in singing “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand,” a song closely associated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, attracting significant attention from party members at the venue.
Odu’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) comes just weeks after Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara also joined the APC, following a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Governor Fubara’s registration into the ruling party was carried out by Tony Okocha, the APC chairman in Rivers State, acting on directives from the party’s national secretariat.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, recently named Governor Fubara as the party’s leader in Rivers State, underscoring the ongoing political realignments in the oil-rich state.
