Nigerian skitmaker and musician Slimcase, whose real name is Oluwafemi Oladipo, has issued an apology to the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) for using the agency’s uniform and a waste truck in one of his skit videos without prior approval.
According to Slimcase, the skit was created to celebrate the dignity of labour, highlighting that every profession, including waste management, is important and worthy of respect.
“The video was my idea and was not intended to ridicule, misrepresent, or embarrass LAWMA, its staff, or the Lagos State Government,” he explained.
The content creator confirmed that the video was removed from all platforms on December 8, 2025, shortly after concerns were raised, and clarified that no adapted versions are currently circulating. He also emphasized that LAWMA did not endorse or participate in the production of the skit.
Slimcase expressed his respect for the agency’s crucial role in keeping Lagos clean and promised to exercise greater caution in future creative projects.
“APOLOGY TO THE LAGOS STATE WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY (LAWMA) AND ITS PARTNERS REGARDING THE VIDEO CONTENT POSTED ONLINE USING LAWMA UNIFORM AND TRUCK… I take full responsibility. The content was my idea and I removed the video from all platforms on December 8, 2025, as soon as concerns were raised. The video was not intended to ridicule, misrepresent, embarrass, or demean LAWMA, its officers, staff, partners, or the Lagos State Government. My sole objective was to promote the dignity of labour and emphasize that every profession, including waste management, is noble, valuable, and deserving of respect. I did not intend to suggest that LAWMA endorsed or participated in the video, and no related or adapted versions are in circulation,” he stated.
