Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has stated that women who are wealthier than their partners cannot be truly submissive in a relationship.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Darlington argued that rich women may feign submission to secure marriage, but deep down, they will not fully yield to their partners.

He advised men to ensure they remain financially ahead of their partners to prevent potential conflicts in their relationships and marriages.

“You cannot tell me that a woman worth multimillions will be submissive to her husband. I don’t believe that. Power does not like to submit. I am not very rich but still proud of what I have. Now, imagine a wealthy woman with houses in Lagos and in the village; she definitely can’t be submissive. She can say it to get married, but deep down, she will never be submissive. There will be issues if your woman earns more than you. It’s going to be a problem. As a man, try your best not to let your partner be richer than you. If she does, she will be aggressive and never submissive,” he said.

Darlington added that he prefers women who are supportive and willing to follow their partner’s lead, rather than financially independent women who might challenge traditional relationship dynamics.
