During the launch of the book “Fintiri, the Man They Could Not Stop” on Monday, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule playfully extended a political overture to Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, encouraging him to explore joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Sule, using humour to make his point, presented a symbolic token—a “Tinubu infinity cap”—as a lighthearted nudge for Fintiri to consider a switch from the opposition to the APC.
“You have the APC in your DNA. We share the same values,” Sule quipped, adding, “I brought a Tinubu infinity cap just in case you are considering joining the APC.”
Highlighting the party’s growing influence across Nigeria, Sule pointed to APC’s gains in multiple states, subtly reinforcing the appeal for Fintiri to align with the ruling party.
“Your Excellency, you have seen us making inroads in Delta, Enugu, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Kano, Plateau, and Taraba States. Who knows, this might just be another political mission I’m on,” he said.
Moving from levity to reflection, Sule offered insights on leadership, particularly the challenges of governing during a second term, emphasizing the importance of principled and purposeful decision-making.
“As a second-term governor, I understand the burden of leadership—the isolation that comes with decision-making and the courage required to govern with conviction under pressure,” Sule noted.
“Leadership is not about chasing popularity at all costs. It is about clarity of purpose, consistency in service, patience, and the fear of God.”
