Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has opened up about why she no longer encourages anyone to audition for the popular reality TV show.
According to Gossip News Now, Phyna noted that while the show can provide rapid fame, the spotlight on contestants often fades quickly once they exit the house.
During a livestream on Twitch, she explained that fans tend to shift their attention to new contestants each season, making it challenging for former housemates to sustain the same level of public attention they enjoyed while on the show.
Phyna also highlighted that the prestige associated with being a BBNaija star has diminished over time, as public perception and expectations have evolved.
She added that many people assume that life after BBNaija guarantees instant success, but this is often far from reality.
“Many ex-housemates quietly struggle despite what social media portrays — a life of luxury and comfort,” she said.
Phyna emphasized that the reality outside the house is usually very different from the glamorous image viewers see on TV.
Because of this, she advised that anyone considering auditioning should be fully aware of the pressures of fame and the challenging reality that often follows the season finale.
She stated:
“The charm housemates have on the show disappears afterward because the same fan base just moves on to the next set. There’s no influx of new attention, nothing fresh. It’s just the same people following season after season. On top of that, the show’s credibility has declined. Nowadays, telling someone you came out of BBNaija doesn’t carry the same respect it used to.”
