Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has weighed in following reactions to her colleague Regina Daniels’ recent Instagram post, which addressed allegations of drug use made by her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko.
On Sunday, Regina responded publicly to Nwoko’s claims, writing:
“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse? You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this. You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share, and now you are trying to make them look bad for no reason.
Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us? The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public, shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs,’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media, something dramatic enough to distract everyone from the real issue!”
Her post led many netizens and media outlets to interpret her words as a confirmation of Nwoko’s claim.
However, Doris Ogala clarified on her Instagram page that Regina’s statement was not an admission of drug use, but a defense against her estranged husband’s allegations.
Doris wrote:
“She was clearly defending herself. You said I do drugs. Yes, I do drugs, is that enough reason to attack my family? This is looking like blackmail to force her back into an abusive and toxic marriage. Make it make sense.
Regina did not admit to doing drugs. This is a clear case of obsession; you must marry me. Haba nau. This girl has cried out that she’s being abused, and you still want her to return after allegedly stating that she’s been injected and subjected to forceful acts. Give the little girl a break. Let her cool off. Her brother is still in prison, yet you expect them to come back. Nawa.”
Doris’ statement emphasizes that Regina’s remarks were defensive and highlights the ongoing controversy surrounding her personal life.
