Nigerian rapper Oladips has officially reached out to his former label boss, Reminisce, signaling an end to a long-standing professional conflict marked by pointed lyrics, public disagreements, and a strained relationship.

In his latest track, Iba Paris 26, Oladips openly acknowledges past mistakes and conveys remorse over how the partnership with Reminisce fell apart. He explained that despite multiple attempts to communicate privately, reconciliation had been unsuccessful, leaving him no choice but to use his music as a medium to speak openly.

“I tried to make contact severally but it didn’t work. This is me saying it openly,” Oladips declares in the song.

The rapper’s journey with LRR/EDGE Records, the label founded by Reminisce, initially promised mutual growth and collaboration. However, tensions emerged over time, particularly concerning financial disputes and restrictions on Oladips’ creative freedom. By 2019, he publicly highlighted struggles while signed to the label, alleging blocked attempts to leave despite his successful releases.

The disagreement soon spilled into public view through interviews, social media posts, and tracks widely interpreted as subtle digs at Reminisce. While Reminisce largely refrained from direct responses, the tension remained palpable among fans and industry insiders alike.

A resurgence occurred in 2022 when certain lyrics from Reminisce were believed to target former signees, prompting Oladips to respond musically. The back-and-forth fueled one of the longest and most talked-about feuds in Nigerian hip-hop.

Over the years, Oladips has reflected on how the feud impacted his career trajectory and affected his relationships with other artists. Yet, the release of Iba Paris 26 illustrates a shift: he now emphasizes personal growth, self-reflection, and the importance of closing chapters amicably.

This public olive branch suggests that Oladips is prioritizing peace and moving past the prolonged dispute, signaling maturity and a desire to mend bridges within the music industry.
