Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has voiced deep concern over Nigeria’s worsening security situation.

His comments come in the wake of the abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the tragic attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Kwara State. Reports indicate that three people were killed in the church assault, while several worshippers, including the pastor, were abducted. The attack occurred less than 24 hours after gunmen stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi, killing the Vice Principal and abducting students.

Sharing his reaction on 𝕏 on Wednesday evening, Davido described the incidents as heartbreaking and unacceptable:

“No family deserves this pain,” he wrote, offering his condolences to the families of the abducted schoolgirls and the victims of the Kwara church attack.

The singer warned against the normalisation of violence and urged Nigerians to unite against rising insecurity:

“These acts of violence must never become our norm.”

Davido also highlighted the importance of safeguarding children, stressing that every Nigerian child deserves to grow up in safety and hope:

“As Nigerians, we must stand together in unity and continue working towards a country where every child can grow up secure and hopeful.”

He called on the public to assist security agencies with credible information that could aid in rescuing the abducted girls:

“Everything must be done to bring the girls home safely. I urge anyone with credible information to come forward responsibly and safely.”

Davido extended heartfelt prayers to the families affected by the Kwara church attack:

“May God comfort the grieving families in Kwara, bring peace to our nation, and put every sponsor of violence and disorder to shame.”
