Tinubu Minister’s Son Picks Up APC Chairmanship Form in Ebonyi

Osbourne Umahi, first son of Senator David Umahi, Minister of Works under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Friday collected the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the chairmanship of Ohaozara Local Government Area in Ebonyi State.

Osbourne arrived at the APC state secretariat in Abakaliki, welcomed by a large crowd of supporters who accompanied him to the venue.

He was received by members of the party’s State Executive Committee, led by Ebonyi APC Chairman Stanley Okoro-Emegha.

Speaking at the event, Okoro-Emegha described Osbourne as an intelligent, capable, and forward-looking young politician and businessman, expressing confidence in his ability to lead Ohaozara Local Government Area to new heights. He also praised the growing involvement of youth in governance and grassroots leadership.

After picking the forms, Osbourne Umahi addressed journalists, expressing gratitude to the people of Ohaozara for nominating him.

“I am grateful to the people of Ohaozara for the trust and confidence they have shown in me. I promise not to disappoint them,” he said.

He added that, if elected, his administration would focus on youth empowerment, highlighting the crucial role of young people in sustainable development.

Osbourne also pledged to continue and expand on the infrastructure development legacy of his father throughout the local government area.

The APC local government primaries are scheduled for January 25. If Osbourne emerges as the party’s candidate, he will contest the local government election against candidates from other political parties in August.
