Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North, has commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the government is pursuing steady yet impactful reforms aimed at addressing Nigeria’s long-standing challenges.
Speaking on Wednesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Oshiomhole said the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government did not assure Nigerians of immediate relief or overnight transformation.
He noted that although President Tinubu has been in office for just two and a half years, visible progress is being recorded daily as a result of deliberate policy reforms.
According to the former Edo State governor, those who once called for a departure from outdated methods are now criticising the government for embracing bold and unconventional strategies.
Oshiomhole explained that the president is not merely making surface-level adjustments but is implementing deep-rooted reforms designed to tackle Nigeria’s entrenched structural issues.
He stressed that the government’s performance should be evaluated based on the intent, direction, and substance of its policies rather than unrealistic expectations of immediate results, adding that sustainable development takes time.
“We never promised miracles. In the two and a half years of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, something positive is happening every single day,” Oshiomhole said.
“And like I mentioned, in a society where people say you cannot continue doing the same thing and expect a different outcome, Tinubu has chosen a completely new path — not just reforming, but radically transforming the system. Yet, the same people now question why he is taking such steps,” he added.
