Good morning, Nigeria. Here is your Gossip News Now roundup of the major newspaper headlines for Saturday, 15th November 2025.

1. AFCON 2025: CAF Introduces Free E-Visas for Supporters — Full Application Guide

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in collaboration with the AFCON Morocco 2025 Local Organising Committee, has announced that fans travelling to the tournament will now receive free electronic visas.

In a statement published on its official website on Friday, November 14, 2025, CAF noted that the new policy applies to visitors from countries that normally require a visa to enter Morocco.

“Electronic visas for Morocco, obtainable through the YALLA app, are now completely free for fans attending the competition from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026,” the statement said.

CAF explained that the initiative comes in response to a major surge in global excitement for Africa’s premier football tournament, with thousands of fans already securing match tickets and travel plans.

To enter Morocco and access stadiums, every spectator must obtain two essential documents — a Fan ID and an e-visa.

“A Fan ID is required for admission into all stadiums and official fan zones. Supporters can apply for both their Fan ID and e-visa directly through the YALLA app, which simplifies travel preparations and stadium entry,” CAF added.

The football body said both applications are “processed smoothly within the YALLA app, guaranteeing a quicker, more convenient and secure experience for fans from around the world.”

According to Gossip News Now, fans must download the YALLA app from Google Play or the App Store, or visit the official YALLA website to fill out their Fan ID application and submit their e-visa request where required.

Once both documents are approved, supporters can then purchase match tickets through CAF’s official ticketing platform.

2. Gospel Community Mobilises Support as Omije Ojumi Battles Serious Leg Condition

Well-known Nigerian gospel artistes have launched a passionate fundraising campaign to support their colleague, Bunmi Akinnaanu—popularly known as Omije Ojumi—who is reportedly suffering from a serious leg condition that has drained her finances.

The renewed push for assistance comes weeks after the singer visited G.F. David Ministries in Ibadan, Oyo State, to seek divine healing.

Fronting the campaign, gospel singer Lanre Alewilese posted a video on Instagram alerting the public to Omije Ojumi’s worsening health and financial hardship.

“She urgently needs your help!” he pleaded, sharing her bank details while calling on Nigerians to contribute.

Alewilese urged musicians from all genres to unite behind the cause, saying, “For God’s sake, I’m appealing to everyone—young and old, gospel, Juju, and Fuji musicians. Let’s put religion aside. Please, let’s save the life of Sister Bunmi Akinnaanu, Omije Ojumi.”

He explained that he had reached out to several colleagues since hearing of her situation. “My colleague, Alayo, called me yesterday about her condition, and I was shocked. I assumed she was already recovering. I didn’t realise she was still being moved from one hospital to another.”

3. Paystack Places Ezra Olubi on Suspension

Paystack, the Nigerian fintech company acquired by Stripe, has suspended its Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a junior staff member.

Gossip News Now reports that the accusations first emerged on social media earlier in the week but intensified after a Nigerian tech outlet released a collection of Olubi’s decade-old tweets containing sexually inappropriate and suggestive remarks.

In a public statement, Paystack confirmed that Olubi had been suspended immediately while the company conducts a full internal investigation.

“Paystack is aware of the allegations concerning our co-founder, Ezra Olubi. We treat issues like this with utmost seriousness. Effective immediately, Ezra has been relieved of all duties pending the conclusion of a formal investigation,” the company announced.

Paystack added that it would refrain from making additional comments until the inquiry is completed.

The situation worsened after users shared screenshots of tweets allegedly posted by Olubi between 2009 and 2013.

The tweets included explicit sexual remarks, some involving coworkers and references considered inappropriate.

One 2011 tweet read: “Monday will be more fun with an ‘a’ in it. Touch a coworker today. Inappropriately.”

Another resurfaced post mentioned the desire to photograph a colleague’s thighs.

Olubi co-founded Paystack in 2015 with CEO Shola Akinlade.

4. Makinde’s 2027 Presidential Posters Take Over PDP Convention Grounds in Ibadan

Posters endorsing Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for the 2027 presidential election were prominently displayed across the venue of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention in Ibadan on Friday.

At the Adamasingba Stadium — the location for the November 15–16 national convention — huge banners featuring Makinde’s image lined the entrance and surrounding areas.

One of the posters, credited to a group named Lana Fun Seyi, carried the inscription: “Seyi Makinde for President.”

Another banner, signed by Fapetu Stephen from Ido Local Government, stated: “Relax, Seyi Makinde will fix Nigeria 2027.”

The banners immediately captured the attention of party delegates, leaders, and observers trooping into the Oyo State capital for the event.

Although whispers about Makinde’s interest in the presidency have persisted for some time, he has repeatedly maintained that he will announce his plans “at the appropriate moment.”

He previously brushed aside similar speculations as “unsolicited commentary,” noting that he does not need anyone’s approval before declaring his political intentions.

The stadium was also adorned with posters of other PDP aspirants seeking national positions. Campaign materials for former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Turaki, who is vying for the national chairmanship, were placed at strategic locations.

Supporters of former Deputy National Chairman, Taofeek Arapaja, likewise displayed posters promoting his bid to become the PDP National Secretary.

The colourful banners, supporter activities, and early arrival of delegates created a lively pre-convention atmosphere across Ibadan.

The convention is expected to elect a fresh National Working Committee (NWC) to lead the party into the 2027 general elections.

5. You Are Lost, Merely Trial-and-Error – ADC Criticises Tinubu

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken credit for the Federal Government’s decision to scrap its proposed 15 percent import duty on petrol and diesel.

In a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said the shelved policy further proves that President Tinubu’s administration is unsure of its direction and is simply experimenting with governance.

The opposition party referred to its statement issued on October 31, 2025, where it cautioned the Federal Government that the planned tariff would worsen the economic strain caused by subsidy removal, a weakened naira, and escalating prices.

While acknowledging the government for finally paying attention to opposition criticism, the ADC remarked that the Tinubu administration must learn to thoroughly evaluate its decisions before making announcements it later withdraws.

6. ‘Obiano Is Alive’ – Former Commissioner Refutes Death Rumour

A former Anambra State Commissioner for Information, C-Don Adinuba, has refuted viral social media posts alleging that ex-Governor Willie Obiano died in London.

According to Gossip News Now, speculation had circulated claiming that Obiano, who served as Anambra governor from 2014 to 2022, had passed away following an illness.

In a phone conversation with The PUNCH, Adinuba labelled the rumour as “irresponsible” and “baseless.”

He maintained that the former governor is “very much alive, in good health, and with his family in Houston, Texas.”

Adinuba said, “Journalists have asked me disturbing questions, and I have also come across a troubling rumour suggesting that former Governor Willie Obiano has died. This claim is completely false.

“I spoke with him and his family members just moments ago. He is safe, healthy, and currently in Houston, USA, where he lives.”

He emphasised that Obiano had not travelled to London, nor had he been admitted to any hospital, and urged the public to ignore the “fabricated report.”

Obiano’s media aide, Tony Nezianya, also told The PUNCH that he had received no information confirming the alleged death.

“I cannot verify that claim; I have no knowledge of such news,” he stated.

Obiano, born on August 8, 1955, is from Aguleri in Anambra East and handed over power to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo in March 2022.

He is currently being probed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over accusations of diverting N4 billion during his administration.

7. Fresh Drama as Another Court Backs PDP Convention

The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has postponed its decision on a preliminary objection questioning its authority to handle a case aimed at stopping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention slated for November 15–16, 2025.

The suit was instituted by a PDP member, Folahan Adelabi, who is challenging attempts to block or interfere with preparations for the upcoming convention.

During Friday’s proceedings, counsel for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), O. Adeyemi, argued that the State High Court lacked the legal power to entertain the matter, insisting that cases involving INEC should be handled solely by the Federal High Court since the commission is a Federal Government institution.

He urged the court to dismiss the suit outright, saying, “INEC is a federal body, and only the Federal High Court has the mandate to hear cases that concern it. This court has no jurisdiction.”

However, the claimant’s lawyer, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Musibau Adetumbi, challenged the objection, arguing that the position taken by INEC undermined the claimant’s fundamental rights.

Adetumbi maintained that the 1999 Constitution protects the right to assemble and freely associate, which includes the right of political parties to organise conventions.

Referring to Section 251 of the Constitution, he submitted that INEC does not fall under the categories that automatically remove the State High Court’s jurisdiction.

After hearing submissions from both legal teams, Justice Ladiran Akintola scheduled his ruling on the jurisdictional objection for December 8, 2025.

He further confirmed that the earlier interim order preventing the defendants from obstructing or interfering with the convention preparations remains effective.

8. ‘Avoid the Ibadan National Convention’ – Factional PDP Chairman Warns

The internal turmoil within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) escalated on Thursday as the factional National Chairman, Mohammed AbdulRahman, urged party delegates to boycott the national convention scheduled to take place in Ibadan.

AbdulRahman issued the caution during a meeting of “progressive and democratic stakeholders” aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, held at his residence.

Addressing those in attendance, AbdulRahman maintained that the planned convention was unlawful and that no sincere party member should participate in it.

According to him, “I want every PDP member across the 36 states and the FCT to understand that our stance is clear. We are responsible citizens who will act strictly in accordance with the ruling of the Federal High Court and the judgment delivered yesterday (Wednesday). We intend to abide by both decisions.

“We therefore urge all delegates nationwide to steer clear of the so-called convention in Ibadan. The court rulings remain binding, and we are dedicated to safeguarding the country’s democratic stability. As the Acting National Chairman, backed by the working committee and the Chairman of the Board, we will continue engaging leaders in all states to return the party to its true owners — the Nigerian people.”

Similarly, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, who leads the factional Board of Trustees, cautioned members against attending the Ibadan gathering, stressing that it would amount to disobeying an existing court order.

9. Christian Killings: Pastor Sam Adeyemi Identifies Those Behind Nigeria’s Violence

Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, has alleged that influential individuals within the highest ranks of government are behind the killing of Christians in Nigeria.

Gossip News Now reports that Adeyemi made the claim on Thursday during a press briefing held in celebration of the church’s 30th anniversary.

The cleric stressed that arguing over terminology regarding Christian killings is insensitive and distracts from the reality of the crisis.

He also cautioned that Nigeria’s security situation could deteriorate further if the United States follows through on the possibility of military intervention.

Adeyemi said, “It is common knowledge that some of those backing the killing of Christians wield enormous power.

“Some of them occupy top government positions, and others are extremely wealthy.

“So this is not something America can simply drop bombs on and expect to resolve.

“Ultimately, after the dust settles, we still have to sit down and address the matter ourselves.”

His remarks followed comments made earlier this month by U.S. President Donald Trump, who alleged that radical Islamic groups were killing Christians “in very large numbers.” Trump warned that the U.S. would take military action if Nigeria did not halt the violence, describing the potential response as “fast, vicious, and sweet.”

The statement generated widespread international concern and diplomatic discussion.

10. ‘I Nearly Lost My Mind’ – Regina Daniels Speaks Out After Alleged Medical Report Leak

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has responded to the statement issued by Serenity Royale Hospital in Abuja regarding a medical document circulating online and falsely linked to her.

Gossip News Now reports that the controversy began on November 14, 2025, when a supposed medical report from the hospital surfaced across social media platforms.

Serenity Royale later released an official disclaimer, stating that the document did not originate from their facility and was completely fabricated.

The hospital emphasized that it had no involvement whatsoever with the report that was being shared online.

Reacting via Instagram, Regina revealed that the situation deeply unsettled her, especially because she personally knows the hospital’s owner.

She explained that she had been ready to pursue legal action before the facility publicly clarified the matter.

The actress said she felt relieved once the hospital addressed the issue and confirmed the document was fake.

With the clarification now out, she added that she has chosen to let go of the incident and move on.
