Nigerian billionaire entrepreneur and nightlife mogul, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has revealed that his focus over the next decade is to build a lasting legacy and ensure his children’s financial independence.

Speaking in a recent interview, the father of five disclosed plans to retire from active business within ten years, saying he hopes to slow down by the time he turns 60 to travel the world and spend more quality time with his wife.

According to the 50-year-old business magnate, his current fast-paced lifestyle and frequent business trips are part of a long-term strategy to create a sustainable system that guarantees both family stability and financial freedom.

“I just want to give my wife the best experience life can offer,” Obi Cubana said, adding that his definition of success lies not only in wealth creation but also in enjoying the fruits of hard work with loved ones.

3. Resident Doctors Declare Indefinite Nationwide Strike from November 1

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has announced plans to embark on an indefinite nationwide strike beginning November 1, 2025.

According to Gossip News Now , the decision followed a five-hour emergency meeting of NARD’s National Executive Council (NEC) held on Saturday.

In a statement issued on Sunday, NARD President, Dr. Mohammad Suleiman, said the strike became unavoidable after the 30-day ultimatum given to the Federal Government expired without resolution of the doctors’ demands.

The association is demanding a 200% increase in the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS), full implementation of new allowances proposed since July 2022, immediate recruitment of clinical personnel, and the removal of bureaucratic bottlenecks hindering replacement of exiting doctors.

Dr. Suleiman stated that the National Officers Committee (NOC) has been directed to ensure full compliance across all hospitals and medical centres nationwide.

He added that centre presidents and general secretaries have been instructed to convene emergency congresses to brief members on the resolutions and enforce the industrial action.

4. ADC Accuses Soludo of Vote Buying Ahead of Anambra Governorship Election

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo of engaging in vote buying and voter inducement, following the circulation of a viral video showing him addressing voters ahead of the November 8 governorship election.

In a statement on Sunday, the ADC’s National Spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, condemned the governor’s remarks, describing them as a “clear display of desperation” and an “open violation” of the Electoral Act, particularly Sections 121 and 127, which prohibit vote buying.

“Ahead of the November 8 election, Soludo has clearly lost the confidence of the people of Anambra, and it shows,” the ADC stated.

The party accused Soludo of disregarding electoral laws in a bid to maintain political power, calling his conduct “a new level of desperation wrapped in impunity.”

The ADC further urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate the allegations and ensure accountability, warning that such actions undermine democracy and weaken public trust in the electoral process.

5. Nigeria Removed from FATF Grey List — Edun Celebrates Major Reform Achievement

Nigeria has been delisted from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, marking a key milestone in the country’s financial reform efforts.

The FATF announced the decision during its October 2025 plenary in Paris, citing Nigeria’s strengthened inter-agency collaboration and improved regulatory oversight in combating money laundering and terrorism financing.

Speaking on behalf of the Nigerian delegation, Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, hailed the achievement as a crucial step toward restoring global confidence in Nigeria’s financial systems.

According to Edun, the delisting serves as “a vote of confidence in our economy and institutions,” signaling to investors and international partners that Nigeria’s financial sector is now more transparent, resilient, and trustworthy.

6. Atiku Accuses Tinubu Administration of Silencing Opposition

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of stifling free speech and suppressing dissenting voices in Nigeria.

In a statement released on Sunday, Atiku alleged that the government has consistently demonstrated intolerance toward opposition, warning that if unchecked, it could turn “free citizens into subjects.”

He described the current administration as gradually descending into dictatorship and eroding the core values of Nigeria’s democracy.

Atiku also lamented the rising economic hardship, hunger, and despair facing Nigerians, claiming that citizens’ cries for relief have been met with intimidation and the arrest of peaceful protesters.

He called on Nigerians and the international community to resist any attempt by the government to silence free expression and opposition voices.

7.. NAPTIP Dismantles Major Child Trafficking Syndicate in Benue and Abuja

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has uncovered a large-scale child trafficking and illegal adoption network operating across Benue State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, rescuing 26 children during the operation.

According to a statement released on Sunday by NAPTIP’s Chief Press Officer, Vincent Adekoye, preliminary investigations revealed that over 300 children had been sold across multiple states for amounts ranging from ₦1 million to ₦3 million per child.

The operation, which involved NAPTIP field teams from Nasarawa, Lagos, and Enugu Commands, also led to the arrest of a 60-year-old orphanage owner—allegedly a prominent member of the National Council of Child Rights Advocates of Nigeria—alongside three accomplices.

Investigations further revealed that the syndicate disguised its criminal enterprise under a fraudulent humanitarian scheme called the “Back to School Project.” The group reportedly exploited vulnerable families in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, promising to sponsor children’s education and return them after three years.

In many cases, desperate parents, unaware of the true intent, signed consent forms or verbally agreed to release their children, believing they were being enrolled in a legitimate welfare programme.

8. Falana Faults Lagos Government Over ‘Unauthorized’ Property Demolitions

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has criticised the Lagos State Government for carrying out a series of property demolitions allegedly without court authorization.

Falana stated that contrary to claims by government officials, no court order approved the demolition exercise that took place in parts of Oworonshoki, Lagos.

Gossip News Now recalls that Justice Adegboyega Balogun of the Lagos State High Court had earlier issued an interim injunction halting further demolitions in the affected areas. The order restrained the respondents, their agents, or contractors from destroying properties or creating third-party interests on Ojileru Street, Ososa Extension, and Toluwalase Street within the Itesiwaju Ajumoni Community Development Area (CDA).

Despite the restraining order, Falana alleged that over 100 properties were demolished in defiance of the court’s directive, displacing several families.

He condemned the exercise, claiming it was carried out “in the dead of night”, and urged the Lagos State Government to respect the rule of law and provide compensation to affected residents.

9. NDLEA Arrests Pretty Mike, 100 Others in Midnight Raid on Lagos Nightclub

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested over 100 suspects, including popular Lagos socialite and club owner Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, better known as Pretty Mike, during a midnight operation at Proxy Night Club, located on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The operation, which began in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, followed intelligence reports suggesting that the nightclub was hosting a drug-fueled party.

In a statement released on Sunday, the NDLEA confirmed that its officers recovered several cartons of illicit substances, including “Loud” (a potent strain of cannabis) and nitrous oxide (laughing gas), seized from both attendees and the club’s storage areas.

All suspects, including Pretty Mike, were taken into NDLEA custody for screening, while the recovered exhibits have been secured as part of ongoing investigations into the incident.

10. Real Madrid Edge Barcelona 2–1 in Thrilling El Clásico Showdown at Bernabéu

Real Madrid defeated arch-rivals Barcelona 2–1 in a tense El Clásico clash at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on Sunday night, with Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham scoring to keep Los Blancos firmly in the La Liga title race.

The match lived up to its billing from the very first whistle, with the Bernabéu crowd creating a charged atmosphere. Mbappé opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, combining brilliantly with Vinícius Júnior before slotting past Wojciech Szczęsny.

The French forward nearly doubled his tally with a spectacular volley moments later, but the effort was ruled out for offside.

Barcelona drew level in the 38th minute through Fermin López, who finished coolly after a clever setup by Marcus Rashford, momentarily silencing the home crowd.

However, Jude Bellingham restored Madrid’s lead just five minutes later, reacting quickest to a rebound from Éder Militão’s header to tap home from close range — a goal that ultimately secured all three points for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
