According to Edem Oyom, the team manager, the situation quickly became critical for some players, with one individual initially reported to be in a life-threatening condition before receiving urgent medical care.

Medical personnel who attended to the victims confirmed that several players are dealing with internal complications, including internal bleeding, alongside visible injuries such as deep cuts.

To ensure better medical attention, the injured players were moved from the initial treatment facility in Okada, Edo State, to another centre in Asaba, Delta State. The relocation was carried out to provide more comprehensive and intensive care.
