United States President Donald Trump has released an image showing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro handcuffed and blindfolded aboard a U.S. warship.
Maduro was captured on Saturday along with his wife in a bold military operation conducted by U.S. forces, Gossip News Now reports.
The development follows Washington’s decision earlier this year to double the reward for information leading to Maduro’s arrest to $50 million, citing his alleged involvement in international drug trafficking.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared the photograph of Maduro, confirming the successful capture of the Venezuelan leader.
Meanwhile, the U.S. government has announced that Maduro faces drug trafficking and terrorism-related charges. Attorney General Pamela Bondi, in a post on X, stated that Maduro and his wife—who were removed from Venezuela by U.S. forces—“will soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts.”
Bondi added that the charges, already filed in New York federal court, include “Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy” and “Cocaine Importation Conspiracy.”
