Fashion designer Veekee James has shared her perspective on boundaries in her marriage, revealing that her husband, Femi Atere, is not allowed to have a female best friend.

Gossip News Now reports that Veekee made the comments during an appearance on the Off the Top podcast with VJ Adams. The Lagos-based designer explained that she believes she should be the closest woman to her husband, and this rule helps maintain harmony in their home.

She stated: “Femi Atere can never have a female best friend. Even if he does, I’ll occupy it with all of herself and her body alone.”

Veekee also reflected on past online criticism, noting that she faced harsh comments accusing her of taking Femi from someone else. She admitted that the online backlash affected her mental health at the time but said she has since moved on.

The couple got engaged in late 2023 and were married on February 10, 2024, celebrating their first wedding anniversary earlier this year.
