Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen reached a major career milestone on Sunday, scoring the 200th senior goal of his professional career as Galatasaray powered to a commanding 4-0 victory over Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Nigerian forward netted Galatasaray’s second goal in a dominant display, taking his career tally to 200 goals across club and international football.
Osimhen later turned provider, registering an assist before being withdrawn in the 82nd minute, while Mauro Icardi wrapped up the emphatic win with a late penalty kick.
The landmark goal further underlined Osimhen’s impressive form since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations. He also scored in Galatasaray’s previous league outing, quickly rediscovering his scoring rhythm after failing to find the net in a hard-fought UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester City.
Overall, Osimhen has recorded 165 club goals in 284 appearances, alongside 35 goals in 51 matches for the Nigerian national team.
His most productive spell came at Napoli, where he scored 76 goals, while his impact at Galatasaray has been immediate and ruthless, with 51 goals in just 61 appearances for the Turkish giants.
The 25-year-old also enjoyed fruitful spells at LOSC Lille, netting 18 times, and Royal Charleroi SC, where he found the back of the net on 20 occasions.
Across his senior career, Osimhen has featured in 336 matches, contributing 200 goals and 51 assists in all competitions.
His trophy haul includes league titles in Italy and Turkey, domestic cup success in Turkey, a FIFA Under-17 World Cup triumph with Nigeria, as well as individual honours such as Serie A top scorer, Turkish Super Lig top scorer, and African Footballer of the Year.
Osimhen has scored in 12 different competitions, with Serie A accounting for his highest return at 65 goals, followed by 33 strikes in the Turkish Super Lig.
Just last weekend, he became the fastest player in Galatasaray’s history to reach 50 goals, further highlighting his immense influence since joining the club.
The victory keeps Galatasaray top of the Super Lig standings with 49 points, extending their advantage to six points over second-placed Fenerbahçe, who still have a game in hand.
