Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has publicly condemned the arrest of Samuel “Sammy” Daniels, the brother of actress Regina Daniels, calling for his immediate release.

Gossip News Now reports that Sammy’s arrest followed an ongoing dispute between Regina and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, a development that has sparked outrage across social media.

Taking to Instagram, Yvonne Jegede described the situation as a gross injustice, insisting that no one should suffer persecution because a woman chose to leave a marriage.

She wrote:

“Evil thrives when good people are silent. We will not sit and watch the ongoing injustice because a young girl decided to exit a union. Sir, your current actions are proving the young girl right. This is a fight for the girl-child and for our democracy as Nigerians. #FreeSamuelOjeagwu.”

Meanwhile, fellow Nollywood star Mercy Johnson has also intervened, visiting a police station in Abuja to demand information on Sammy West’s whereabouts.

Johnson had earlier joined public calls for his release, describing the situation as “the worst form of injustice disguised as justice.”

She wrote:

“The worst form of injustice is pretended justice. A child was arrested, and for two days, no one has been allowed to see him. He was flown from Lagos to Abuja and allegedly taken to court straight from the airport. How did we get here, Nigeria? Wow. #WhereIsSamuel #FreeSamuelOjeagwu.”

The arrest has deepened public concern about the ongoing conflict between Regina Daniels’ family and Senator Ned Nwoko, with many Nigerians urging authorities to ensure fairness and transparency in the matter.
