Wunmi, widow of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has addressed recent online rumors claiming she welcomed a baby girl following the singer’s death in September 2023.
The speculation began circulating on social media after photos emerged suggesting she had a new child. Speaking out via her Snapchat story, Wunmi clarified that she did not have a second child and described the circulating images as false and misleading. She urged the public to stop sharing unverified claims.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away in 2023 under controversial circumstances. Investigations into his death remain ongoing. Since then, Wunmi has faced public scrutiny, including paternity claims, harassment, and now, unfounded rumors regarding childbirth.
In a related development, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, announced that the late singer will be laid to rest immediately after the conclusion of a DNA test. Joseph has reportedly been in dispute with Wunmi over the paternity of their son, Liam. In a video circulating online, he described the DNA test as the main reason for delays in Mohbad’s burial, adding that the family will proceed with the interment once the results are finalized.
