The ex-wife of Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo, Omotayo Sanusi, popularly known as Iyan Aladuke, has publicly criticised the actor over her eviction from a Lagos property and the ongoing fallout from their marriage.
Gossip News Now reports that the reaction follows a family member defending Femi Adebayo amidst public backlash over the eviction.
Iyan Aladuke had previously expressed distress over the closure of her business due to circumstances beyond her control, prompting social media discussions suggesting that Adebayo had abandoned her.
However, a family member, Taiwo Abdulmalik, told Punch that Iyan Aladuke was aware of the factors that led to her eviction. Abdulmalik explained that the matter was part of a bank recovery process and not a deliberate act by Femi Adebayo.
She noted that Adebayo had purchased the property through a bank loan, and the bank later initiated foreclosure due to repayment issues.
In response, Iyan Aladuke shared her side of the story, explaining that she had endured difficult times and never intended to publicise the situation on social media.
She claimed that the lies being circulated about her were gradually unraveling, revealing the true character of her ex-husband.
According to her, Femi Adebayo brought nearly 20 men to carry out the eviction, expecting it to remain private, even though her elderly mother was present and threatened by armed men.
Iyan Aladuke further alleged that Femi Adebayo has always been focused on protecting his reputation without regard for who suffers, but she affirmed that she would no longer remain silent.
She also accused him of staging a publicised visit to his son’s school after a year of absence.
In a post, she wrote:
“I’m going through a tough time and really didn’t want to air it on social media, but here I am. Last year, I was bashed and falsely accused, but thank God for the good people around me who stood by me. Now it seems the tables have turned—what was meant to disgrace me has turned to glory.
The lies are falling apart, and people are seeing the true character. I can see the desperation, the damage control. What did you expect when you took almost 20 armed men to a public place to evict people? Of course, the news would spread! You started it, keep fueling. My aged mother was thrown out with a gun, knowing fully well she’d be there to help me with my child! Who are you to talk to me about God? You don’t know God! You only put up the act.
You always want to silence me by targeting my reputation. I’m done keeping quiet! You can’t silence me anymore! The desperation to save your name—you don’t care who goes down! I’m not going down with your lies! Whoever published those false narratives in Punch Newspapers should retract them. I’m only quiet because of my son—please don’t push me!
You staged a visit to his school on Wednesday after being absent for a whole year, even though your office is just a few minutes’ walk from home! You took a picture to garnish your image, watched us get thrown out of my marital home on Friday, and now published the visit in Punch. I knew what was coming the moment I was told about your impromptu visit and picture play.”
