Reality television personality Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has sparked widespread online reactions after she was reportedly denied access to the birthday celebration of 2025 Big Brother Naija winner, Imisi.
According to reports, the incident occurred at the event venue on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
A video clip circulating online captured Phyna visibly upset and embarrassed as she narrated what transpired at the entrance of the party.
She explained that security personnel and event organizers refused to allow her in because she was livestreaming the occasion for her fans. According to her, she was instructed to put down her camera before gaining entry, a condition she found unnecessary and unacceptable.
Phyna stated that her sole intention was to show support for Imisi on her special day, not to disrupt the event or cause any form of trouble.
She further expressed disappointment over what she described as unfair treatment, questioning why the rule seemed to apply only to her.
The reality star also raised concerns about possible double standards, suggesting that other well-known content creators or livestreamers might not have been subjected to the same restrictions if they were in her position.
Although security officials reportedly insisted that video recording and filming were prohibited inside the venue, Phyna maintained that the rule was selectively enforced, leading to the tense exchange.
Expressing her frustration, she said:
“If na Speed or Peller come here, will you tell them to drop their camera? I came here to support Imisi, not to cause any trouble.
You people are embarrassing me for nothing. Why is it only me you are stopping? They said I should drop my camera before entering, and I don’t understand why this rule is only for me.”
The incident has since triggered mixed reactions across social media, with fans and observers debating whether the organisers acted appropriately.
