The Chairman of Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area in Zamfara State, Alhaji Munnir Haidara, has accused former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman Sadiq Chiroma of undermining the party even before officially joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Haidara made the claim in a statement released on Sunday, following Chiroma’s defection.
He alleged that Chiroma’s activities before and after the recent state assembly bye-election raised serious doubts about his loyalty to the PDP. According to Haidara, Chiroma was “frequently seen secretly interacting with APC stakeholders in the state,” a move he described as a clear violation of the PDP constitution.
Haidara further claimed that Chiroma leaked confidential party strategies and actively worked against the PDP’s chances during the bye-election. He also linked the recent defection of the PDP’s former state assembly candidate, Mohammed Lawal Kurya Madaro, to Chiroma’s influence.
Despite these issues, Haidara said the PDP in Kaura-Namoda remains supportive of Governor Dauda Lawal’s “people-oriented projects” and urged residents to continue backing ongoing development initiatives.
He wished Chiroma well in his new party but cautioned that he would “reap what he sowed” following his move to the APC.
