Former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Matters and Social Events, Dr. Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, has formally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gossip News Now reports that Dudafa, who previously served as a Bayelsa State commissioner and was once the youngest member of the state House of Assembly, confirmed his defection in a statement issued to journalists in Yenagoa on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

In a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Southern Opokuma/Ayibabiri Ward 8, Kolokuma/Opukuma Local Government Area, Dudafa said his decision followed “deep reflection and consultation” with his family, associates, and supporters.

“It is with a heavy heart that I tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately,” he wrote.

Explaining his reasons, Dudafa cited the party’s prolonged internal crises, particularly at the national level, as the key factor that made it impossible to continue.

He stated, “The unresolved disputes have severely hindered progress and created an environment of division, making it difficult to pursue the shared goals and ideals we once stood for.”

While expressing gratitude for his time in the PDP, Dudafa reaffirmed his dedication to the welfare and progress of his people, saying his commitment to public service remains unwavering.

Announcing his move to the APC, Dudafa described the ruling party as a “platform of renewed hope and unity,” expressing optimism about contributing to its vision.

“After careful reflection, I have decided to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), which I believe offers a stronger foundation to drive development and unity in Bayelsa State. I look forward to working with like-minded individuals who share this vision,” he added.
