Lilian Adebayo, wife of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) 2023 presidential candidate, Adewale Adebayo, has expressed confidence that her husband can defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections — if Nigerians vote truthfully and objectively.

Speaking to journalists after an event in Abuja on Wednesday, she said Nigeria is facing tough times under the APC, and citizens should be ready to choose credible leadership in the next general election.

According to her, every political party experiences internal conflicts, but the SDP has successfully resolved its challenges following the removal of former National Chairman Shehu Gabam and others.

“He has a great chance of winning the election if Nigerians are honest with themselves,” she stated.
“If people believe those they keep voting for will move the country forward, they are living in denial.”

Lilian urged Nigerians to embrace change in 2027, stressing that the current hardship in the country should motivate voters to reconsider their choices.

She maintained that the SDP is now united and prepared for the future, adding that crisis within the party has been handled.

Recall that the SDP recently expelled Gabam alongside several executives. In reaction, state chairmen called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the police to investigate him for alleged financial misconduct.
