Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain calm and united amid the ongoing leadership tussle at the national level, describing the dispute as a “temporary family matter” that will soon be resolved.
In a statement released on Wednesday, November 5, by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke reassured party faithful that efforts were already underway to restore peace and stability within the PDP.
“I urge all members of our party, the PDP, to remain calm and steadfast. We are cruising to victory next year, and we must stay committed to rebuilding our party for another landslide success,” Adeleke stated.
The governor expressed optimism that the national disagreement would be settled through dialogue and collective understanding, emphasizing that party stakeholders were united by a common goal — the PDP’s progress and continued dominance.
“The ongoing disagreement at the national level is a family affair. I want to assure our members, both in Osun and across the nation, that it will soon be resolved. All stakeholders are working hard to ensure that peace returns to the party as quickly as possible,” he added.
Turning to state matters, Adeleke directed PDP leaders across all local governments and wards in Osun to step up grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2026 governorship election. He reaffirmed confidence in the party’s popularity and capacity to retain power in the state.
“I hereby direct all our party leaders across wards and local governments to commence massive mobilisation ahead of the 2026 Governorship Election. The PDP remains the party to beat, and we will only emerge stronger and better,” he said.
Gossip News Now reports that Adeleke’s remarks come amid internal tensions within the PDP following recent suspensions and counter-suspensions of key officials. His intervention is seen as a strategic move to douse tensions, promote reconciliation, and refocus the party on its broader electoral objectives.
