The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the Super Eagles will receive a $5,000 cash bonus for every goal scored at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The incentive, first reported by ScoreNigeria, forms part of a broader motivation package launched in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Sports. A similar scheme was applied during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifying campaign.
Coach Eric Chelle’s squad has already benefited from the initiative, earning $10,000 following their 2-1 opening victory over Tanzania. The result has positioned the Super Eagles strongly ahead of their crucial Group C clash with Tunisia on Saturday.
The highly anticipated match against the Carthage Eagles is scheduled to kick off at 9:00 p.m. Nigerian time, with a win likely to secure Nigeria’s spot in the Round of 16 with a game to spare.
Nigeria began their AFCON 2025 journey on a high note, while Tunisia currently tops Group C after a commanding 3-0 win over Uganda. The upcoming encounter promises a competitive showdown, with Nigeria seeking redemption against the North African side that eliminated them in the Round of 16 at AFCON 2021.
