Executive members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Gargari Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, have announced the removal of the party’s state chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, citing alleged anti-party activities.
The decision was reportedly reached during the ward’s second executive meeting, held roughly two weeks after the NNPP’s national convention. A total of 27 ward executive members endorsed the action by signing a formal resolution.
The meeting was chaired by the Ward Chairman, Shuaibu Hassan, and attended by the Ward Secretary, Yahaya Saidu Dungurawa, among other officials.
According to the resolution, Dungurawa was expelled over accusations of fueling internal divisions within the party, orchestrating crises, failing to remit party dues, and making derogatory statements against Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The ward executives described the alleged conduct as damaging to the party’s unity, public image, and progress in Kano State, insisting that such behavior could not be tolerated.
They explained that the disciplinary action was taken in accordance with the NNPP constitution, emphasizing that party discipline, cohesion, and loyalty must be maintained at all levels.
The Gargari Ward leadership disclosed that copies of the resolution had been forwarded to the party’s local government, state, and national secretariats for further action.
They also confirmed that the resolution was formally communicated to the NNPP national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as well as Governor Yusuf, for their awareness and guidance.
The executives stated that the expulsion was meant to serve as a warning to party members who abuse positions of authority or act in disregard of party rules.
Reaffirming their allegiance, the ward leadership pledged continued loyalty to the NNPP national leadership under Kwankwaso and expressed unwavering support for the Kano State governor.
They further committed themselves to promoting peace, unity, and the overall growth of the party at the ward, local government, state, and national levels.
