The Chairman of Saudi Arabian football giants Al-Nassr, Abdullah Al-Majed, has dismissed widespread speculation suggesting that Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo holds an ownership stake in the club, clarifying that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner remains solely a player.

Al-Majed made the clarification while addressing Ronaldo’s impact and status within the Saudi Pro League, amid persistent rumours linking the former Manchester United forward to part-ownership of the Riyadh-based outfit.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 following his controversial departure from Manchester United in November 2022, a transfer widely regarded as a landmark moment that reshaped football’s landscape in Saudi Arabia.

In the wake of his arrival, several global superstars — including Neymar Jr., Karim Benzema, and N’Golo Kanté — completed high-profile moves to various Saudi Pro League clubs, dramatically enhancing the league’s international profile and commercial growth.

Many analysts and fans have credited Ronaldo’s bold decision to move to Saudi Arabia as the driving force behind the influx of elite talents into the league.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Sportskeeda, Al-Majed acknowledged Ronaldo’s significant off-field influence but firmly denied suggestions of any ownership involvement.

“He played a major role in persuading many top players to come,” Al-Majed said, underlining Ronaldo’s impact in attracting world-class talent to the Saudi Pro League.

However, the Al-Nassr chairman was unequivocal in rejecting claims of shared ownership.

“Cristiano does not own any part of the club. He is a player, and the business side remains solely the responsibility of the club’s owners,” he stressed.

On the pitch, Ronaldo has continued to justify his marquee status with consistently outstanding performances, proving his value extends well beyond commercial appeal.

Since his arrival, the 39-year-old forward has registered 110 goals and 22 assists in 126 appearances across all competitions for Al-Nassr, cementing his place as one of the most influential figures in the club’s history.
