Angela Okorie Remains in Custody Despite Meeting Bail Conditions

Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie is still being held at Suleja Correctional Centre, even after the Federal High Court in Abuja approved her bail on Friday.

The court had set bail at ₦5 million, with a requirement for one surety of equal value, who must be a Level 13 civil servant. Reports confirm that all conditions were successfully met through the assistance of several prominent figures.

Support for Angela’s bail process came from notable personalities, including activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, veteran actress Mama Pee, actor Stanley Ontop, and human rights advocate Randy Peter.

Despite fulfilling all bail requirements, administrative delays have prevented her immediate release from the correctional facility.

Actor Stanley Ontop clarified the situation in an Instagram post, explaining that the bail documentation was completed after official working hours on Friday, leaving prison authorities unable to process her release before the weekend.

“Angela Okorie’s bail has been processed, but by the time we completed everything, it was already past working hours,” Ontop wrote.

He added, “She will be released from Suleja prison on Monday. All bail conditions have been met, and we are now waiting for Monday for her release.”
