Rivers Ijaw Group Declares Support for Wike, Withdraws Backing for Fubara

A major political shift has emerged in Rivers State after the Rivers Ijaw Peoples Congress publicly announced its decision to align with Nyesom Wike while stepping away from Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The declaration was made during Wike’s appreciation visit to Okrika, where political stakeholders gathered to receive the former Rivers governor.

Tobin described the minister as a political mentor who created opportunities for several Okrika indigenes to secure appointments and elective offices.

He added that residents across the local government area, including youths and women, remained firmly loyal to Wike and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
