Top figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered in Abuja on Monday as the party’s newly established Strategy, Conflict Resolution, and Mobilisation Committee officially began deliberations aimed at strengthening internal unity ahead of future political activities.
The high-level meeting, which was held behind closed doors, marked the committee’s first session since its inauguration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governors And Party Leaders Storm Abuja Meeting
The gathering took place at the Yobe State Governor’s Lodge in the Federal Capital Territory under the leadership of Mai Mala Buni, who heads the committee.
Several governors and senior APC personalities attended the strategic session, reflecting the importance the ruling party places on resolving internal disagreements and consolidating party structures nationwide.
Among those present were Siminalayi Fubara, Hope Uzodimma, Hyacinth Alia, Sheriff Oborevwori, Uba Sani, and Biodun Oyebanji.
Heavyweight Political Figures Also In Attendance
The meeting also attracted notable political figures and ministers within the APC fold.
Others seen at the session included former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola.
Senior party chieftains such as Muiz Banire, Senator Kabiru Marafa, and presidential aide Ibrahim Masari were equally part of the deliberations.
However, reports indicated that Governors Bassey Otu, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and Umar Namadi were absent from the maiden meeting.

Committee Expected To Handle Internal Disputes
According to Gossip News Now, the committee was originally inaugurated by President Tinubu to address lingering tensions within the APC while also improving mobilisation efforts across different regions of the country.
Sources familiar with the meeting disclosed that discussions largely centered on creating operational guidelines for the committee and identifying ways to reconcile dissatisfied party members.
The APC leadership is believed to view the committee as a crucial mechanism for maintaining unity ahead of future elections and major political engagements.

Focus On Rebuilding Party Cohesion
Political observers say the formation of the committee signals growing awareness within the ruling party about the need to manage internal disagreements before they escalate further.
The presence of governors from different geopolitical zones also suggests that the APC leadership is attempting to ensure broader inclusion in decision-making processes.
Analysts believe reconciliation efforts may become increasingly important as political alignments ahead of future elections continue to evolve.
Commentary And Analysis
Internal conflict resolution has become a major issue for many Nigerian political parties in recent years, particularly as rival camps compete for influence and control.
The APC’s decision to establish a dedicated committee focused on mobilisation and reconciliation may reflect lessons learned from previous internal crises experienced both at state and national levels.
The attendance of prominent political actors, including Siminalayi Fubara and other governors, indicates that the party intends to present a more united structure moving forward.
Observers also note that beyond resolving disputes, the committee could eventually play a strategic role in coalition-building, membership expansion, and electoral coordination ahead of future contests.
As political activities gradually intensify nationwide, the effectiveness of the committee may significantly shape the APC’s internal stability in the coming years.
