The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State has announced that it will align its political direction with the guidance of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as preparations for the 2027 general elections begin.
The commitment was made during Wike’s “thank you” visit to the area on Sunday, according to reports by Gossip News Now.
Speaking at the event, the APC Chairman in Ahoada West, Rejoice Otobo, assured the former Rivers State governor that party members in the LGA are fully prepared to follow his leadership and political direction, pointing to the visible development recorded during Wike’s tenure as governor.
“We are waiting for your direction ahead of the 2027 elections. Wherever you instruct us to go, we will go, and whatever you ask us to do, we will do. The people of Ahoada West have collectively agreed to follow your lead,” Otobo stated.
In a parallel show of allegiance, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the local government, Ikechukwu Obuzor, also declared his loyalty to Wike, reaffirming the area’s support.
“I want to assure you that we stand solidly with you. Wherever you go, we will follow. Come 2027, Ahoada West will fully align with you,” Obuzor said.
Earlier in the programme, the Chairman of Ahoada West LGA, Chita Eugene, hailed Wike as “the political field marshal of the South-South,” commending him for attracting numerous developmental projects to Rivers State while serving as governor.
Eugene noted that Wike’s visit went beyond a routine courtesy call, describing it as a moment to honour impactful leadership and dedicated public service.
Also addressing the gathering, Rep. Victor Obuzor, who represents the Awelga-ONELGA Federal Constituency, said Wike deserves widespread support, citing his significant role in the growth and transformation of Rivers State during his years in office.
