Political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections are beginning to reshape alliances in Rivers State, as leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area openly pledged loyalty to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The endorsement came during a recent appreciation visit by the former Rivers governor to the area, where political stakeholders across party lines gathered to express support for his leadership and future political direction.
Speaking during the gathering, the APC chairman in Ahoada West, Rejoice Otobo, assured Wike that party members in the local government had resolved to remain loyal to him as preparations gradually intensify for the next election cycle.
She pointed to the developmental projects executed during Wike’s administration in Rivers State as one of the major reasons many residents and political actors continue to identify with him.

Earlier during the event, the Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Chita Eugene, praised Wike for what he described as impactful leadership and major infrastructural achievements recorded during his tenure as governor.
Eugene noted that the gathering was not merely ceremonial but served as an opportunity to appreciate years of political leadership and public service associated with the former governor’s administration.
Also lending his voice, Rep. Victor Obuzor, who represents the Awelga-ONELGA Federal Constituency, maintained that Wike continues to enjoy widespread support because of his contributions to the growth and development of Rivers State.
