Former Big Brother Naija star Tsakute Ladi Jonah, popularly known as Saskay, has opened up about the difficulties she’s faced adapting to a new academic system in Europe.

In a post shared on her 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) page, Saskay reflected on the stark differences between the Nigerian and European approaches to education, admitting that the transition has not been easy.

According to her, while the Nigerian system emphasizes memorization and repetition of classroom notes during exams, her current studies in Europe demand a deeper understanding of concepts, independent research, and real-life application of knowledge.

“Schooling in Nigeria made me learn exactly what I was taught and spit it out in tests/exams.
Schooling in Europe says I need to learn what I’m taught, read more outside of schoolwork, and apply that knowledge to real-life situations in tests/exams.
It’s a bit of a struggle, to be honest, especially since I’ve never learnt how to do the latter,” she wrote.

The reality TV star confessed that adapting to this new learning style has been challenging, but she remains determined to embrace the process.

Saskay is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Global Security and Strategy at the Brussels School of Governance in Belgium — an opportunity she revealed took her five years to achieve.

She shared that her journey toward further education came with several setbacks, including moments of self-doubt and the temptation to settle for a course she wasn’t passionate about.

Despite the challenges, Saskay expressed optimism about her academic pursuit and reaffirmed her commitment to personal growth and global learning.
