Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has asserted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) must play a crucial role in preventing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from further damaging the country.

Gossip News Now reports that Atiku made the remarks during a meeting with ADC state chairmen from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory at his Abuja residence.

The visit, led by Kogi State ADC Chairman Ogga Kingsley, was to formally welcome Atiku following his recent registration as a party member. The meeting was also disclosed via a post on his official 𝕏 account on Tuesday, December 2.

Atiku urged the delegation to immediately begin mobilising for the coalition’s goals, stressing that the mission to “rescue Nigeria” could not be delayed. He called on other stakeholders who have yet to complete their registration to do so promptly.

“No one can afford to sit on the fence,” Atiku told the gathering.

He commended the ADC leadership across the states for their commitment and alignment with his vision for national progress.

“I am indeed pleased to see that leaders of the party at the state level are thinking with the future of our country in mind,” he wrote.

Reiterating his commitment to national unity and prosperity, Atiku said both parties must work together to protect Nigeria from what he described as the APC’s harmful governance.

“Together, we are committed to our resolve to work towards a secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria. The APC is bent on wrecking our country, and we are ready to stop them from doing so,” he concluded.
